Botox

A calmer forehead and softer lines, dosed so the muscle still moves — just without the crease.

15–20 min · No downtime

What it is

A purified botulinum toxin that temporarily relaxes the small muscles behind expression lines — most often the forehead, frown lines between the brows, and crow's feet. It softens the crease without erasing the muscle's ability to move.

Who it's for

Anyone bothered by lines that show at rest, not just on expression, is usually a good candidate. We don't treat during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have a neuromuscular condition affecting the treatment area.

What happens at your appointment

A short consultation to map your muscle pattern while you frown, raise your brows and squint, then a series of fine injections. No numbing is typically needed — most guests describe it as a quick pinch. The appointment itself takes 15–20 minutes.

Results & recovery

Movement starts changing around day 3, with full effect by day 14. There's no real downtime — small injection-site bumps settle within the hour. We review you at two weeks and refine at no charge if needed.

Questions

Botox — frequently asked

Twenty answers written by our physicians.

How soon does Botox work?
First movement changes appear around day 3, with the full effect visible by day 14. We schedule your review for two weeks out, once the result has settled.
How long does it last?
Three to four months for a first treatment. Guests who repeat sessions regularly often find the muscle stays trained for longer between appointments.
Does it hurt?
Most describe it as a series of quick pinches rather than pain. Numbing cream is available on request but isn't usually necessary.
Will I still be able to move my face?
Yes — we dose to soften the crease, not to freeze the muscle. You'll still frown, raise your brows and smile; the lines just won't fold as deeply.
What areas do you treat?
Most commonly the forehead, the frown lines between the brows (glabella), and crow's feet at the outer eyes. Jaw, neck and underarm treatments are also available and discussed separately.
Is there any downtime?
None to speak of. Small red bumps at each injection point settle within 30–60 minutes, and makeup can be applied a few hours later.
Can I exercise afterward?
We ask you to avoid strenuous exercise, lying flat, and touching the treated area for about four hours, so the product stays where it's placed.
What if one side settles differently?
Minor asymmetry in the first two weeks is common while the product takes full effect. We review and balance it at your two-week appointment at no charge.
Can Botox raise a heavy brow?
A small amount placed just above the outer brow can lift it slightly by relaxing the muscle that pulls it down. It's a subtle effect, discussed at consultation if that's your goal.
Will my expressions look frozen?
Not with a conservative, anatomy-led dose. Over-treatment is what causes a frozen look — we start lighter and add more at your review if you want a stronger effect.
What are the side effects?
Temporary redness or small bumps at injection points, occasional mild bruising, and rarely a heavy eyelid if product migrates — all discussed in the consent you review beforehand.
Can I combine it with filler in the same visit?
Yes, commonly — Botox for movement lines and filler for volume are often planned together, sometimes in the same appointment.
How many units will I need?
It depends on muscle strength and the area treated — typically 10–20 units for the frown lines, more for a full-face plan. Your exact dose is set at consultation.
Is Botox safe to have regularly?
Yes, for most adults, when spaced appropriately (roughly every 3–4 months) and administered by a trained physician or specialist nurse.
When should I start if I want to prevent lines?
There's no fixed age — some guests start in their late twenties to keep an expression line from becoming a static crease. We assess your skin and muscle pattern rather than working to an age rule.
Can Botox help with excessive sweating?
Yes, it's a licensed use for underarms, palms and soles, reducing sweat gland activity for several months per session — ask at consultation if this interests you.
What shouldn't I do before treatment?
Avoid alcohol and blood-thinning medication like aspirin or ibuprofen for 24–48 hours beforehand if possible, to reduce the chance of bruising.
Will insurance or my GP need to be involved?
No — cosmetic Botox is a private, elective treatment. We'll flag it if anything in your medical history needs a GP conversation first.
What if I'm not happy with the result?
Because the effect builds over two weeks, we review then and can add a touch-up. Botox cannot be reversed like filler, which is exactly why we dose conservatively at first.
Who actually performs the injection?
Only physicians and specialist nurses trained in facial anatomy — nobody injects at this clinic without a medical licence on file.
